Sunseeker International, a globally recognised British yacht manufacturer, is renowned for its commitment to performance, innovation and craftsmanship. As Sunseeker’s sustainability ambitions expanded, attention turned to the operations at its Technology Centre, specially, the disposal of fabric waste. Various departments were generating textile offcuts that were routinely sent to general waste. This practice conflicted with Sunseeker’s broader environmental goals, prompting the search for a dedicated, traceable and sustainable solution for managing fabric waste.
The Solution: A Traceable Circular System with SecureBrand®
To address the issue, Sunseeker partnered with Avena Group, selecting the SecureBrand service, to implement a secure, circular textile waste solution. Fabric waste is now collected via CCTV-monitored vehicles and transported to an accredited secure facility. There, materials are subjected to industrial shredding, ensuring complete and irreversible destruction. The shredded textiles are then repurposed into further-life products, supporting Sunseeker’s wider sustainability objectives. Full traceability is maintained throughout the process, accompanied by detailed environmental reporting to ensure compliance and transparency.
The Result: Zero Waste, Full Alignment with Sustainability Goals
The partnership with Avena successfully eliminated fabric waste from the Technology Centre’s operations. Offcuts and surplus textiles are now entirely diverted from general waste streams and transformed into sustainable applications. This closed-loop solution has enabled Sunseeker to align it production processes with its sustainability commitments, demonstrating that waste reduction and operational excellence can go hand in hand.
