Our Journey at ESS 2023: A Greener Future Beckons

The 2023 Environmental Services & Solutions Expo (ESS) has come and gone, once again leaving us with a wealth of knowledge, inspiring encounters, and a continued passion for environmental sustainability. ESS provides to be the ultimate platform for sustainable innovation and technologies, this year attracting over 18,000 attendees, 800 exhibitors, and representatives from 32 countries.

Here’s a glimpse into our experience at this years this fantastic event:

#1: Leaders in Resource Management Illuminate the Path ForwardESS image

One of the highlights of our ESS journey was attending the keynote session titled ‘Leaders in Resource Management.’ The esteemed panel, featuring Anna Willetts from Gunnercooke LLP, John Wilkinson from SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, Mick Davis from Biffa Waste Services Ltd, Mike Maudsley from Enfinium, and Neil Grundon from Grundon Waste Management Limited, captivated the audience with their insights.

The discussion revolved around the impending governmental changes and new legislations set to impact not only waste management companies but also businesses across various sectors. The panellists shared diverse opinions, offering a rich tapestry of perspectives. It was truly eye-opening to witness how these changes will ripple through the business landscape, highlighting the need for adaptability and sustainable practices.

#2: The Immense Size and Global Appeal of ESS

ESS’s colossal scale and global appeal were evident as we navigated through the event. The diversity of the attendees, hailing from all corners of the world, was a testament to the expo’s popularity. People converged at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) from around the globe to witness the latest breakthroughs in sustainability and environmental solutions. This global presence underscored the importance of ESS as a unifying force in the quest for a greener planet.

#3: Building Meaningful Connections

ESS was not just about gaining knowledge but also about forging valuable connections. We had the privilege of reconnecting with PK Safety, a longstanding client of Avena Group and a sponsor of the expo. Our discussion revolved around our SECUREBRAND solution, which is instrumental in recycling end-of-life PPE and workwear.

In addition, we met other remarkable companies committed to sustainable practices. EGGER Timberpak, a fully integrated timber recycling company, showcased their innovative work with timber recycling. MRW (Materials Recycling World) stood out with their informative magazines, offering deep insights into waste streams, old and new. These connections, among many others, reinforced our belief in the power of collaboration and knowledge sharing.

A Thank You to ESS

We want to extend our gratitude to the organizers of ESS for once again curating such an exceptional event.
